Lecornu told reporters he was fully resolved to restoring public order and that if declaring a state of emergency was deemed necessary we could do so, but added that at this stage partial curfews seemed more appropriate Reuters / Devdiscourse.
The targeted curfews that were imposed in parts of Paris and other cities after several days of protests that turned violent helped keep the peace overnight, French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Tuesday Devdiscourse — Reuters Oct 20 11:05 IST.
That statement came Tuesday morning Oct 20 11:05 IST — curfews worked overnight, but at what cost?
Yesterday we tracked 2,400 arrests and 1,500 shops ransacked France overnight Part 2. Today we track the answer: curfews and protest bans.

This is not citywide martial law — yet. Lecornu ruled out a blanket curfew in Paris but not a state of emergency DZRH / Reuters. He called curfews very limited and localized. But the threat is now on the table: state of emergency if curfews fail.
When 60,000 Police Is Not Enough — Macron Admits Intelligence Failure

France deployed 60,000 police and other security forces on Saturday, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez told France Inter radio, but acknowledged that wasn’t enough to control violent crowds in certain cities Al Arabiya.
After the weekend scenes of chaos, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez offered his resignation CGTN.
But President Emmanuel Macron’s office said on Monday he had turned down the offer, telling Nunez instead to put an end to barricades and looting and be transparent over what Macron called intelligence and foresight failings CGTN / Business Today.
Macron rejects minister’s resignation — President Emmanuel Macron has rejected Interior Minister Laurent Nunez’s offer to resign and instead told him to end the barricades and looting and be transparent about what Macron called intelligence and foresight failings Business Today.
Think about that number: 60,000 security forces deployed Saturday. Nearly 1,000 injured. And it wasn’t enough.
When the state says 60,000 is not enough, the next tool is always curfews, protest bans, and state of emergency.
And vandalism continued on Sunday night, with looted stores and another 108 arrests in Paris Business Standard.
Protests drew more than half a million people on Saturday across the country, but the demonstrations over cost-of-living concerns soon deteriorated as fast-moving groups targeted hundreds of shops Business Standard.
Officers made 108 fresh arrests in the capital on a second night of disorder, as the French Government held crisis talks and resisted calls for a state of emergency Brussels Signal.
Why This Is Prophecy — From Distress to Control in 48 Hours

There is a pattern in Scripture you must not miss.
First, distress of nations with perplexity — men’s hearts failing them for fear — the sea and waves roaring.
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth” — Luke 21:25-26 KJV
We tracked that yesterday — 2,400 arrests, 1,500 shops ransacked, Limoges City Hall roof collapse, five countries in 48 hours all saying we can’t afford to live yesterday we tracked 2,400 arrests and 1,500 shops ransacked.
Then comes control.
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark” — Revelation 13:16-17 KJV
And “power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations” — Revelation 13:7 KJV
Power over kindreds, tongues, nations — that power expresses itself first as curfews and protest bans.
Saturday: looting.
Sunday night: 108 more arrests.
Monday night: curfews 11pm-6am Place de la République, protest bans 8pm, minors curfew Lille/Nice, Marseille bans demonstrations entirely.
Same week same week banks launched proof you are human to buy and sell — World ID for Banks goes live with iris scan required to transact.
Distress + Control rising together in same 24 hours is not coincidence. It’s convergence.
When Protests Are Banned at 8pm and Curfew Starts at 11pm, Where Is Hope?
As France was busy cleaning up its streets, European governments advised citizens travelling to France to avoid large crowds and exercise caution OnManorama.
From looting to lockdown in 48 hours.
Saturday: You could march, you could protest, you could also have your shop ransacked.
Monday night: You cannot enter Place de la République after 11pm, you cannot remain on Les Halles after 11pm, you cannot protest in designated areas after 8pm.
Tomorrow? Lecornu said if declaring a state of emergency was deemed necessary we could do so.
There is a fixed hope, and it’s not in 60,000 police, curfews, or protest bans.
That hope found in Jesus Christ, who bore the wrath we deserved so we could have peace with God, and who promised deliverance from the hour of temptation that shall come upon all the world.
