Still trying to play basketball and on Sunday went up to see Casey and play some ball. It was a beautiful day in the high seventies.

I havent shot a ball in a year and boy it showed as we shot around for a bit. Then we played a game of 2 on 2 and during the game I got my finger caught between myself and a younger more physical player and my finger lost. It made this awful cracking and crunching sound. My poor pinky finger has sustained a few injuries over the last few years and this one just totally reagrivated it. Not sure if there is anything broken, but I am thinking about having an x-ray done on my hand to see if there is extensive damage. I have been icing it most of the last 36 hours, but it is still pretty sore. I think this officially retires me from doing anything else but shooting around in the future. These wheels need more then grease.

I can type:) And it is probably good to use it and keep it loose, at least to a point.

The bummer of this is that I am missing more work at a time that i really can not afford it. Life is just a constant hill and it feels like I am stuck in gallons of maine maple syrup slooshing uphill. Don’t think I am going to make it to the top of the hill, but atleast the maple syrup is good.

Well, back to the icing of my hand.

Great song and great message. Interesting story about how his grandmother used to ask him, John, as a 45 year old to crawl into bed with her to pray.

For Quite a while I lost interest in the Celtics, Although I was keeping tabs, it just seemed like this team was dead in the water before the all star break. Injuries have taken their towel and the old guys looked well, old.

Then after the all star break, this team started to make a nice run and have been one of the top teams record wise since the all star break. Kevin Garnett has been unbelievable over the last month and so has Paul Peirce. Both are playing at a very high level. Then comes Rajon Rondo who has been on a historic run with not only assists but also leads the league in triple doubles. Some of these games with the triple doubles have been unbelievable and very enjoyable to watch.

They now lead their conference after Philly has take a dive over the last month and Philly has a brutal road schedule to end the year. It is plausible that they may not even make the playoffs. Wow!

The Celtics are facing a tough weekend of back to back to back games and last night they looked like shit against a D-League filled Toronto Raptors. It was a disappointing loss for a team that has beaten Chicago, Miami twice and has been playing at such a high level lately.

Tonight they face off against the Nets in NJ and will need to beat this team down. Doc admitted after the game last night that his subbing of players shifted to try to adjust to the back to back to back games, but said he would not do that again.

Jacoby Ellsbury leading off first base in a baseball game against the Baltimore Orioles. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Wow, I actually turned this game off and did not return until late as the Sox were down 4-0 early and I moved over to the exciting but a huge bummer of a double overtime loss the Bruins took as the Capitals hung in there and finally got one by Tim Thomas in the 2nd overtime.

The Red Sox have been off to a very slow start, but have looked good in their first home stand of the year. After the huge loss of Jacoby Ellsbury I was feeling like the swoon of the end of last year was rearing its ugly head.

But upon turning over to the Extra innings, I find the game still going on and Red Sox are putting a pounding on the Tampa Bay Rays for the 2nd day in a row. Home runs and hits were flying out of the part in the 7th and 8th inning as many different players were spanking the balls and the Sox go on to an impressive 13-5 win after yesterdays 12-2 drubbing that they unleashed on the bays yesterday.

The Red Sox Busted this one open in the 7th and 8th inning with 8 runs in those 2 innings.

Could they be on their winning ways? Time will tell but it sure is good seeing them beat Tampa Bay who absolutely OWNED them the last 2 years.

Go Sox
